Save Energy - Save Money with our Heating Control System

Imagine automatically controlling your heating from your bookings calendar – well now you can!

Hallmaster now links remotely to HeatingSave or Inspire to automatically control the temperature for each room or zone, according to the booking settings (ie. date, time and required temperature), thus saving energy costs.

You still keep complete control whilst freeing up valuable time – plus it ultimately saves your venue money!

Just contact one of the suppliers and they will guide you through from your initial enquiry, to a consulatation to understand your heating requirements. They will then advise you how best to manage your heating using one of their thermostats which you will need an engineer to install.

Once setup, you can connect your Hallmaster account and start remotely controlling your heating for each of your events.

We are adding more systems as we go so ask us about this useful module.

In the meantime, read on for more information about this and why more and more customers are putting this in place…

How Smart Heating Integration Works

To get started, you simply contact one of the supported heating providers. They will guide you through the full process, from initial enquiry to consultation, to understand your venue’s heating requirements.

They will then recommend the most suitable thermostat and system setup. Installation is completed by a qualified engineer.

Once installed, your Hallmaster account can be connected, allowing your heating system to automatically respond to your booking schedule.

We are continuously expanding integrations with additional systems.

Why Energy Efficiency Is a Major Challenge in Commercial Buildings

Many venues and multi-use buildings unknowingly waste significant energy due to outdated or disconnected heating control methods.
Below are the most common energy efficiency problems found in commercial spaces.

Heating Empty Rooms

One of the most common inefficiencies is heating spaces that are not in use.

This often happens when:

  1. Heating is left on after bookings end
  2. Rooms are warmed too early before occupancy
  3. Systems are not switched off between sessions

This leads to unnecessary energy consumption and significantly increased heating costs.

Poor Alignment Between Usage and Heating Schedules

Many buildings rely on fixed timers instead of real usage data.

This results in:

  1. Heating starting too early “just in case”
  2. Systems running during gaps between bookings
  3. No adjustment for last-minute changes

Lack of Zoned Heating Control

In many venues, the entire building is heated even when only one room is in use.

This causes:

  1. Wasted energy in unused areas
  2. Higher utility bills
  3. Inefficient distribution of heat across spaces

Manual Heating Control and Human Error

Where heating is manually controlled, inconsistency is common.

Typical issues include:

  1. Forgetting to switch systems off
  2. Incorrect thermostat settings
  3. Different users applying different controls
  4. Overheating due to “safe” high settings

Outdated Heating Systems

Older systems often lack automation or integration capabilities.

Limitations include:

  1. No remote access
  2. No occupancy-based control
  3. No integration with booking systems
  4. Manual scheduling only

Overheating and Energy Waste

Spaces are often heated beyond what is necessary due to:

  1. Fast warm-up habits
  2. Lack of staged temperature control
  3. Manual overrides

This not only wastes energy but can also increase cooling demand later.

Heating Left Running Between Bookings

Even short gaps between sessions can lead to unnecessary energy use.

Common examples:

  1. Heating left on during 30–60 minute gaps
  2. Systems not resetting between bookings
  3. End-of-day shutdown delays

The Benefits of Connecting Heating to Your Booking System

Integrating heating control with your booking platform allows venues to:

  1. Automatically heat rooms only when booked
  2. Reduce wasted energy from empty spaces
  3. Improve comfort for users on arrival
  4. Remove reliance on manual controls
  5. Optimise energy use across multiple rooms or zones
  6. Lower overall operational costs

Improve Efficiency, Reduce Costs, and Modernise Your Venue

By connecting your heating system directly to your booking schedule, you ensure energy is only used when it is truly needed.

This creates a smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable way to manage venue heating – without adding complexity to day-to-day operations.
