The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is the national membership organisation for Scotland’s voluntary sector.
Its mission is to champion the role of voluntary organisations in building a flourishing society and to support them to do work that has a positive impact.
Passionate about what the voluntary sector can achieve, SCVO along with its community of 4,000 members and supporters believes that a thriving voluntary sector should be at the heart of a successful, fair and inclusive Scotland.
SCVO is part of a Scotland-wide working group supporting village and community halls across the country. In 2023, SCVO in partnership with the Scottish Rural Network and Development Trusts Association Scotland launched the village and community halls handbook, giving advice and support to community groups whether they’re just starting out, covering all the tasks involved in day-to-day running, or looking to expand their net zero or digital journeys.
